What is ChromaCalm
ChromaCalm is an artist-led design-research wellbeing experience that combines intentional colour, guided meditation, and nervous system awareness to support emotional regulation and inner clarity.
Rooted in creative expression and the mind-body connection, ChromaCalm invites you to explore how colour can help you shift emotional states, feel more balanced, and reconnect with your natural calm - from the inside out.
This isn’t colour theory. This is about discovering your inner language and learning to speak it through colour.

Your Journey
Step 1
Meditation
Discover colours unique to your emotional states through guided meditation and work with colour intentionally.
Step 2
Colour Articulation
Learn to identify where feelings live in your body through colour mapping and work with the colours your subconscious associates with these feelings.
Step 3
Artefact
Bring your colour insights into the material world through a custom tool that changes colour when you touch or breath onto it. Supporting agency to transition between feeling states.
Step 4
Balance
Through routine practice with intentional colour, build resilience, reduce stress, and support long-term balance and nervous system health.

Why ChromaCalm
Nervous system regulation isn’t a luxury - it’s a foundation for health.
ChromaCalm is designed ato work with the body’s sensory systems - including visual (colour), respiratory (breath), and symbolic (imagery). ChromaCalm helps restore balance to the nervous system - supporting health at the root.
90% of the mind is subconscious
The subconscious aspect of our psyche governs most of our emotional and behavioural patterns. Guided meditation techniques enable access to this deeper layer, helping rewire emotional responses.
Colour influences emotional and physiological states
Colour exposure has been shown to affect mood, autonomic arousal, and brain activity in emotion-related regions like the amygdala and prefrontal cortex; a symbolic non-verbal language that our subconscious physiologically and psychologically responds to.
Nervous System regulation supports immune health
Chronic stress dysregulates the immune system and is linked to inflammation and disease. Practices that support emotional balance, such as guided meditation, positively impact immune markers and longevity.
